Ottawa Campus
1001 S. Cedar Street
Ottawa, KS 66067
Founded in 1865, on the banks of the Marais des Cygnes River about 40 miles southwest of Kansas City, Ottawa University began as a collaboration between the Ottawa Tribe and the Baptist missionaries serving in that area to improve the lives of local residents through higher education. From its beginnings as a single building, it has grown, changed and spread to include seven campuses, as well as an online school.
Our location in Ottawa, Kansas, is our main campus, home to over 600 residential students; the Ottawa Braves athletics programs and the Dick Peters Sports Complex; our new Gibson Student Center; renovated university apartments exclusively reserved for students 21 and older; and a wide variety of resources, including the Adawe LifePlan Center, which assists you in everything from degree planning to interview prep and more.
