Human and Social Services
In the Human and Social Services program at Ottawa University, you can learn about some of the major policies and programs designed to meet community needs among varied populations. Students in this program study issues such as diversity, social equality, poverty, substance abuse, mental health and relational crises. This program follows the guidelines of the National Organization for Human Service Education and allows you to analyze the social, legal, political and governmental forces that influence the delivery of human services. You can also prepare for a life of serving others by gaining skills in program implementation, client interviewing, data gathering, counseling, consulting and case management.
