Paul Sapienza

Sapienza earned letters in men’s soccer (1967-70), men’s basketball (1968-71), and baseball (1970-71). He was named 1970 Outstanding Athlete of the Year.

He helped the Braves to a four year record of 46-14-2. Sapienza helped the Braves to two conference championships and to two appearances at the NAIA National Tournament. The Braves finished sixth in 1969 and fifth in 1970. Sapienza was named to the

Sapienza was a four-time All-Conference performer, earning Mid-West Offensive Player of the Year honors in 1969. He was team captain in 1970 and scored three goals at the NAIA National Tournament.

As a member of the men’s basketball team he helped the Braves to a three year record of 26-41 playing for head coach Bill Frear. Sapienza served as team captain during the 1970-71 season. On the baseball diamond, Sapienza led the Braves to an overall record of 17-33 and a HAAC record of 11-17. He was a pitcher and utility player of the Braves. Sapienza was also the team captain.
