Louis R Coppoc

Coppoc earned letters in football (1953), basketball (1953-57), and track (1953-57).

Coppoc was part of the 1953 team that went 3-6 under head coach Paul J. Andree.

As a member of the OU men’s basketball team, Coppoc helped lead the Braves to a four year record of 43-53. He was part of the 1954-55 team that took first in the KCAC under head coach Don Meek.

On the track, Coppoc helped the Braves to two KCAC Championships in 1956 and 1957. He was a four-time All-KCAC performer in the pole vault, winning the conference championship in 1955, 1956, and 1957. During the 1957 track season, Coppoc set a then school record in the pole vault with a vault of 13-01 at the Doane Relays.

After graduating from Ottawa University, Coppoc taught and coached for 38 years at Williamsburg High School in Williamsburg, Kan.
