L. Blaine Rush

Rush earned letters in men’s basketball (1946-49) and tennis (1947-49). He graduated in three years from Ottawa University.

On the basketball court, Rush helped OU to a record of 32-19. He was part of three straight Kansas Conference Championships and he led the Braves to two Kansas NAIA Playoff appearances. Rush earned Second Team All-KS Conference honors in 1946-47. He earned First Team All-KS Conference honors in 1947-48 and an again in 1948-49. Rush was named captain for the 1948-49 season. In his three years of competition, the Braves only lost four Kansas Conference games.

As a member of the OU men’s tennis team, Rush finished with a singles record of 7-5 and a doubles record of 3-5. During the 1947 season, Rush and doubles partner Robert Noren finished second at the KS Conference Championship. Following graduation from Ottawa University, Rush went into the banking profession. He served Ottawa University Board of Trustees.
