Gault lettered on the basketball court for the Braves (1984-85, 1986-88).
Gault led OU to a record of 38-35 with a second place finish in the KCAC during the 1984-85 season under head coach Bob Cole. He was a two-time District 10 performer for the Braves and earned First Team All-KCAC honors in 1986-87 and 1987-88.
He is ranked in the top 25 in the OU men’s basketball record book in career scoring (1,162), career assists, career steals, career field goals attempted, career field goals made, and career field goal percentage.
After graduating from OU, Gault went on to coach at the University Academy Charter School and he was a volunteered as a youth baseball and basketball coach for the YMCA, KCMO Recreation and the KC Elite Youth.
