David Holtwick

Holtwick lettered in football (1972-75) and track (1973-75) for the Braves.

In his four years on the gridiron, the Braves went 18-19, winning the program’s first and only Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Championship in 1972. Holtwick was part of the 1972 team that defeated Friends University in the Mineral Water Bowl. He earned Second Team All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) honors in 1974 and 1975.

During the 1973 Indoor and Outdoor track season, Holtwick earned All-HAAC honors in the shot put. He won the 1974 HAAC Outdoor Championship in the discus and earned All-HAAC honors during the outdoor season in 1975 in the discus.

While at Ottawa University, Holtwick was named to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1975 and 1976. He was elected Mr. OU as a senior and was on the Dean’s Honor Roll for four years.

After graduating from Ottawa University, Holtwick joined Southwestern Bell Telephone in its management development program, where he worked for 24 years in various management positions in Kansas City, Salina, Topeka, and Colby, Kan. He now works as a business liaison for the City of Shawnee, Kan.
