Binns lettered in basketball (1927-31), football (1929-30), and track (1929-31) for the Braves.
As a member of the OU football team, Binns helped the Braves to a 2-13 record. On the basketball court, Binns was a four-time First Team All-KS Conference selection. He helped lead the Braves to a record of 39-29 and a trip to the AAU National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. in the 1930-31 season. Binns was an “O” Club letterman.
