Chris Chaney
Chaney lettered in football (1971-74), basketball (1973-76), and baseball (1972-74).

As a member of the OU football team, Chaney helped the Braves to a four year record of 21-16 and to the 1972 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) championship. He was a two-time All-HAAC selection, earning Second Team honors as a tight end in 1973 and 1974. Chaney ranked third in the OU football record book in single game punting average (46.7 vs. Southwestern College). After his football career was complete, Chaney had tryouts as a punter with NFL teams the New York Jets, the Arizona Cardinals, the Denver Broncos, and the Green Bay Packers.

On the basketball court Chaney helped the Braves to three top five finishes in the HAAC with a second place finish in 1974-75 and two third place finishes in 1973-74 and 1975-76. He led OU to a record of 40-31 playing for Coach Bill Frear.

Chaney also excelled on the baseball diamond, earning First Team All-HAAC honors in 1974. He led the Braves to a three year record of 18-31.

Chaney has worked for the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation in Burlington, Kan. since 1982.
